One of the most classic pet-peeves of concert goers is that some musicians don't sound nearly as good live as they do on recordings. Sure, music studios offer technologies to make the most inept singer sound like a virtuoso, but if you can't pack the vocal punch in concert, there is certain lack of credibility attached to that musician.
