Music is out family.... It's been a real perception switcheroo for us in the rock band Heart since the late '70s and '80s. At that time, the idea of any song of ours running in a television ad campaign was sort of like having your innocent child dishonored and the pure artistic poetry ripped away from it's holy soul.

Nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2012 are in. Guns N’ Roses, the Cure, Heart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Eric B. and Rakim, the Spinners, the Small Faces/Faces, Freddy King and Rufus with Chaka Khan are all hitting the ballot for the first time, while previous nominees Beastie Boys, Laura Nyro, War, Donovan and Red Hot Chili Peppers also made the cut.

Ann, Nan and the band came, saw and conquered the Ashley Furniture HomeStore Pavilion as they blew up the stage with a blistering salvo of Heart tunes and Zeppelin runes. The sizzling Seattle-ites sent the crowd into orbit with a rollicking version of Zep's “Rock and Roll” as they launched the set off. Ann Wilson’s outrageous vocals on the opening rocker jump-started the laid back Phoenix fans and justified every comparison to Robert Plant that’s been written over the last 35 years.

Opening for Def Leppard, Heart became an uncaged animal in front of more than 14,000 fans, offering up thumping takes of "Heartless," "WTF," "Barracuda" and the galloping "Magic Man.
