Grammy winning Guitarist Sharon Isbin new record featuring Nancy Wilson

A Note from Sharon Isbin

SHARON ISBIN & FRIENDS: GUITAR PASSIONS.
In this new album, I pay tribute to my guitar heroes, and am
honored to be joined by rock, pop and jazz legends Steve
Vai, Steve Morse, Stanley Jordan, Nancy Wilson from Heart,
Romero Lubambo, Rosa Passos, soprano saxophonist Paul
Winter, and organic percussionist/composer Thiago de Mello.
I also pay tribute to my early teacher Andres Segovia,
composers Joaquin Rodrigo and Agustin Barrios Mangore, as
well as Brazilian icons Laurindo Almeida and Antonio Carlos
Jobim with whom I shared concerts and recordings.  The
multi-genre journey has a South American and Spanish flavor
with music from Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Colombia and
Spain, and includes seven premieres. Sadly, I learned that
the composer of the first track, Gentil Montana, passed away
in his native Colombia on Saturday.  I dedicate this release
to him.

Please enjoy 'The Making of Guitar Passions' video, which
includes live sessions with Steve Vai, Nancy Wilson, and
Stanley Jordan:

and the new 'Asturias' music video (yes, a classical music
video!) which previews an upcoming documentary:

The CD is now in stores and online:

And if you're in New York on Thursday September 22, please
join me, Romero, Paul and Thiago for a CD release
performance at:  Le Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleecker St., 7:30pm.

On a separate note, for all of you Corigliano, Schwantner,
Foss fans, last spring EMI reissued my AMERICAN LANDSCAPES
with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, a CD of concerti
composed for me by these American greats.

With warm wishes for the remainder of your summer,

Sharon Isbin
