Heart take "Fanatic" on the road this fall

Iconic rockers Heart will work the road this fall in support of a new studio effort, "Fanatic," as well as a memoir chronicling the lives of Ann and Nancy Wilson.

Following a trio of shows this weekend, the Grammy-nominated rock band will begin the official fall trek with an Oct. 3 performance in New York City. The 17-city outing moves down the East Coast, wrapping up Nov. 14 in Richmond, VA.

Alejandro Escovedo and The Sensitive Boys will open the October shows, while Shawn Colvin will handle a handful of November concerts.

Heart is preparing for the Oct. 2 release of "Fanatic," the band's 14th studio effort and first since 2010's "Red Velvet Car." Produced by Grammy winner Ben Mink in hotel rooms and studios along the West Coast, the forthcoming album follows the June 5 release of "Strange Euphoria," a multi-label box set retrospective.

"What a crazy year we are having," Ann Wilson said in a press release. "Our box set, 'Strange Euphoria,' and our book, 'Kicking and Dreaming,' each tell the story of our lives so far, personally and musically. Our new album, 'Fanatic,' tells our story as it is now and brings it all up-to-the-minute."

Next week (9/18), "Kicking and Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul and Rock and Roll" will hit retailers via HarperCollins. Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson penned the memoir with the help of author Charles R. Cross, covering their decades-long career in the music industry.
