Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart at Walk of Fame star ceremony

Ann and Nancy Wilson were honored with their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, September 25, at 6752 Hollywood Boulevard. Their star was unveiled in front of the Musician’s Institute. Guest speakers at the ceremony were Sean Kinney, Mike Inez and William DuVall of Alice in Chains and Rita Wilson.

Rita Wilson talked about being a student at Hollywood High School and having Heart as role models as females playing rock music.

The band Alice in Chains also spoke at the ceremony. Mike Inez from Alice in Chains, who performed and recorded with Heart in 2002- 2006, spoke of how nice and cool they are along with being some of the best musicians in the business. Band member William DuVall closed by saying "Heart for the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame 2013..let's make it happen".

Ann and Nancy both thanked their families, people on their crew and staff who have worked with them over the years and their fans and more. After the ceremony, they signed autographs for their fans.

Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson with their band, Heart first receive chart success in the ‘70’s with hits like “Crazy on You,” “Magic Man,” “Barracuda,” “Straight On,” and so many more. Not only did the Wilson sisters lead the band, they wrote the songs and played the instruments, too, making them the first women in rock to do so.

Heart continued topping the charts through the ‘80’s and ‘90’s with huge hits like “These Dreams,” “Alone,” “What About Love,” “If Looks Could Kill,” “Never,” and more.

Nearly 35 years after their first big hit, Ann and Nancy Wilson were back in the Billboard Top 10 in 2010 with Heart’s “Red Velvet Car” album, and a Top 5 DVD (“Night at Sky Church”).
